Outpost

One inbox. Every channel. Always on.

A unified customer inbox that watches every way a customer can reach you — web form, email, business texts, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs, Google messages, voicemail, AI-answered calls — and aggregates it all. Real-time SMS for urgent items. Daily email summary for everything else.

What's included

Eight inbound channels. One unified inbox. Real-time alerts.

Outpost watches every way a customer might try to reach you, captures every message, and routes it intelligently. Urgent items text your personal cell within 30 seconds. Everything else lands in a daily email summary so you can review the previous day over coffee instead of scrambling between multiple apps every hour.

01
Web service-request form
Customers can submit a structured request from your website. Photos, urgency, preferred contact method — all captured and routed.
02
Business SMS aggregation
Texts to your business number get logged, tagged, and routed. No more switching between personal texts and customer texts in the same thread.
03
Optional AI voice agent
An AI receptionist that answers calls when you can't, captures the customer's request, and texts you the recap. Configured to your business and your voice.
04
Facebook Messenger & Instagram DMs
Messages from social platforms get pulled into the same inbox so you stop missing leads buried in app notifications.
05
Google Business Profile messages
When customers tap "message" from your Google listing, those go to the same place too — not a separate Google interface you forget to check.
06
Voicemail transcripts
Voicemails get transcribed and routed to your inbox. You read them at a glance instead of listening to 47-second rambles one by one.
07
Real-time SMS alerts to your phone
Urgent items — that you define — text your personal cell within 30 seconds, so you never miss an actual emergency or hot lead.
08
Daily 7am email summary
Everything that came in yesterday, organized by channel and urgency, in one email. Read it over coffee. Done.
09
Smart urgency routing
You decide what's urgent — keywords, channels, customer types. Outpost learns and routes accordingly. The threshold for "wake me up" is yours to set.
10
Review alerts from Google, Yelp, Facebook
Every new review across every platform notifies you immediately, so you can respond fast and stay on top of your reputation.
How it works

Phase 1 launches in 1–2 weeks. The rest rolls in over time.

We're honest about the rollout: not every channel is online at launch. Phase 1 covers what we can deliver immediately — web form, AI voice agent (optional), real-time SMS, daily email summary, Google review alerts. The rest of the channels phase in over the following months. You see the roadmap on day one. No surprises.

1
Phase 1 · Launch (1–2 weeks)
Web service-request form on your site. Optional AI voice agent configured to your business. Real-time SMS recap to your cell for urgent inbound. Daily 7am email summary. Review alerts from Google. This is what's live the moment we go live.
2
Phase 2 · Social channels (~1–2 months in)
Facebook Messenger and Instagram DM aggregation come online. Now every social inbound feeds the same inbox as your web form and SMS.
3
Phase 3 · Google Business messages
Google Business Profile messages get pulled in. The "message us" button on your Google listing finally goes somewhere you'll actually see.
4
Phase 4 · Voicemail transcription
We route your business calls through Telnyx infrastructure — transparent to your customers, same number, same ring — so we can transcribe voicemails and surface them in the same inbox.
5
Phase 5 · Web dashboard
Eventually the SMS recaps and email summaries become the secondary view, and a real web dashboard becomes the primary way to manage your inbox. This is the long-arc destination — not a Phase 1 promise. We'll get there.
FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to give Outpost my customer data?
No. Outpost only sees the inbound messages your customers send through the channels we connect — and only the messages, not your existing CRM, contact lists, or customer history. If you ever cancel, your data goes with you.
Will my customers know there's an AI agent?
If you choose to use the optional AI voice agent, customers calling after hours or during overflow get a friendly AI receptionist that captures their request and tells you about it. We design it to sound natural and we recommend disclosing it on your website. The web form, SMS aggregation, and other channels are invisible to your customers — they just feel like normal channels that happen to never miss a beat.
What if I don't want the AI voice agent?
Skip it. The voice agent is optional. The rest of Outpost works fine without it — you get web form capture, SMS aggregation, social DM aggregation, voicemail transcription, and the daily summary. Many clients start without the voice agent and add it after they've seen Outpost work for a few months.
Do I need to have my channels set up first?
Yes. Outpost watches your channels — it doesn't create them. If your Google Business Profile is a mess and your Facebook page is empty, Outpost can't pull much through. Basecamp sets up every channel properly so Outpost has something to aggregate. Most clients bundle them so Basecamp finishes right as Outpost launches.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Outpost is month-to-month. The setup fee has a 30-day money-back guarantee; the monthly fee is cancelable any time, no contract, no penalty.
When will all the channels be live?
Phase 1 (web form, AI voice agent, SMS recap, daily email, Google review alerts) launches with the engagement. Phase 2 (Facebook Messenger, Instagram DMs) is typically 1–2 months later. Phases 3–5 follow over the next several months.
What's the difference between Outpost and a CRM?
A CRM stores customer history, deals, and pipelines. Outpost is the front door — it captures inbound across every channel and tells you what needs attention right now. The two complement each other; many clients eventually run both. If you don't have a CRM yet, Outpost is the faster, simpler thing to start with.
